Choosing an Airbrush Makeup Machine

Choosing an airbrush makeup machine can be a difficult decision to make. For most people who are just starting with airbrush makeup, it is hard to make a choice between all of the different brands and products out there. Here I will outline some of the most important things to consider.

Firstly, you should always look for good value for money. This goes without saying but in the cosmetics industry you need to be particularly careful as there are a large number of products which will take your hard earned money and not give you very much in return.

Makeup

Having said this, it is particularly important to get a good quality product. There are a number of airbrush makeup machines which are really just not worth the money that they cost and are liable to break repeatedly. It is therefore advisable that you go with a brand which has been around for many years and has a good reputation. Products which have only recently released are more prone to errors and are generally not produced by people who actually use them every day in salons. It is important to choose a brand name which will last and also one which can be relied upon for technical support and help 10 years down the line.

It is important, then, to make sure that you choose a machine that will be right for your needs. Is this your profession or are you just interested in giving it a go? Different products are geared towards different people. Some come with instructional DVDs whereas others expect you to know what you are doing straight away.

There are also a couple of technical aspects that need to be considered. One of the most important is the difference between single and dual action airbrushes. A single action airbrush means that you need to move the brush closer or further from the subject to control the amount applied whereas a dual action one has a trigger. Dual action airbrushes are generally easier to use but can cost a little more. All of this needs to be factored into the equation.

Finally, make sure that you get a product that has good reviews. This is similar to my advice about a good brand and I really cannot stress it enough. Many people find it difficult to choose a good airbrush makeup machine precisely because there is so little information available about them. Some companies capitalize on this and will extort your money. Therefore make sure that you go with a well respected brand that has been around for a while and has good reviews.

What Color Eye Shadow Works with Green Eyes? How to Choose Makeup Colors Perfectly

Do you know how to create beautiful, stunning eyes that really pop? Do you want the first thing people see when they look at you be your beautiful green eyes? The real secret to makeup is to complement what you already have naturally. This is especially true with eye shadow. The colors you choose can make all the difference.

The eyes are one of the first things that are noticed when you look at a person. They are the focal point that can be beautifully accented in many different ways. Eye makeup defines the eyes even more and you can be as creative as you like. However, there are certain colors that you can use to really make green eyes stand out to the world.

Makeup

Colors, Colors, Colors

So what shades can you put on your green eyes to make them stand out? Despite what you may have heard, avoid greens. All green eye shadow does is camouflage your gorgeous eyes. To make your eyes stand out, you need a shade that contrasts yet complements your green eye shade.

Some great color ideas for green eyes include:

o Plums

o Purple

o Violet

Don't be afraid to experiment with bolder, brighter colors. If you have light skin, you will want to go with a brown-hued eyeliner instead of black or even a plum or purple shade of eyeliner.

Put the color eyeliner in the corners of your bottom eyelash area then line the whole top lashes with the same color. Next try a light color eye shadow and put it on your brow bone area then a darker shade on your lid.

There are so many different types of products available today that you are not limited to what type and colors you use. Now you can accessorize your eyes with a beautiful array of powders, creams and glittery dustings. Also note that Almay has a line of eye makeup specifically for green eyes that you might want to try out.

Eye Makeup Application Tips

When applying your eye shadow, the proper technique can create that 'pop' more than the actual makeup color. So take the time to learn the proper application process to get the most from your eye makeup.

Traditional eye shadow powders are very easy to use with small applicator brushes and foam pads. For a dimensional look, blend two colors of powder or one color of powder on top of a cream shadow base. You might choose to use your own brushes instead of the brushes and applicators that come in the packaging of makeup. This way you can have longer brush handles and more control over the application.

With cream-based eye shadows, remember that less really is more. The cream shadows generally come in small squeeze tubes that really enhance the look of your eyes with a light application across the lid, reaching up to your brows if you wish. You may use a small tipped brush or a Q-tip to help you apply the crème properly.

Running or 'melting' eye shadow - Melting eye shadow is a problem for many women, but there is a way to make it 'stick' a little longer. If you use a damp eye shadow brush and apply a layer of face powder to your lids and allow setting; the shadow will stay in place for the day.

Eye Makeup Safety Tips

The eyes are also a very sensitive part of the body. It's very easy to get infections in the eye and to do so can affect your eyesight permanently.

You should never share eye makeup this could cause eye infections. Try not to get makeup in your eyes, if you do rinse them out as quickly as possible with warm water. Be extra careful if you were contact lenses.

Eye Care

The right eye shadow won't matter when your eyes are puffy, swollen or red. You need to know how to take care of this delicate area of the eye so that your green eyes always look their best. Below are some basic eye care tips that will help your eyes look hot both day and night.

1. Get enough sleep at night.

2. Drink lots of water each day.

3. Avoid salty foods that cause you to retain water.

4. Certain moisturizers not designed for the eye area can create puffiness.

5. Before applying eye make up, soothe puffy eyes with a metal spoon held under cold water for a few minutes and then gently pressed onto the eye area.

6. Cool cucumber slices on the eyes at the end of the day are a great soothing technique.

7. Elevate your head while you sleep if you tend to wake up with 'bags under your eyes'.

8. Always remove your eye makeup completely before going to bed.

9. Avoid using harsh chemicals to remove your eye makeup.

10. Keep contacts cleaned and changed regularly.

Following these steps can keep your eyes looking fresh and young so they will be even more beautiful when you expertly apply your makeup.

Importance of Removing Eye Makeup

It is vital to remove all makeup before going to bed at night. It is needed to keep your skin healthy. If you leave makeup on your face it could lead to clogged pores and dull looking skin, but leaving eye makeup on can lead to infection occurring in the eyes.

It can also cause you to have red irritated eyes. No matter how tired you are always take a few minutes to remove the makeup for your own benefit. If the area around your eyes become irritated you could begin to have an allergic reaction in this area. Not only could your eyes become red, but you could also experience pain and itching of the eyes. Repeatedly applying makeup to already irritated skin will make things much worse.

Of course, removing eye makeup is the hardest of all makeup to remove. However, there are a few tips that can help in this area. They are listed below.

* Vaseline

* Olive oil

* Cold cream

* Baby oil

Whichever method you use to remove eye makeup, you can still follow the same basic directions. Take a cotton ball with the cleaning product and gently wipe over the eye lids, then if needed you can use a warm damp washcloth to remove the cleaning product.

Tips for Learning How to Apply Makeup

Learning how to apply makeup takes a little bit of time and a whole lot of practice. Little girls usually start teaching themselves to this well before they're old enough to actually wear makeup. When they're first learning to put on makeup, they tend to look more like clowns than the glamorous movie stars they're trying to look like.

As the girls get older, they start to learn that when makeup is involved, more isn't always better. Though learning it does take a lot of practice, there are some things you can do to help even out your makeup learning curve.

Makeup

Makeup Application Tips

Before you learn how to apply makeup, you need to know what kind of makeup you're applying. There's makeup for the face, eyes, eyebrows and lips. You certainly don't have to use makeup on all of your facial features, but you can. If you decide to use facial makeup, or concealer, make sure to get a concealer shade that matches your face. If you're concealer is too dark or too pale, it will stand out. If you have nice skin, you can bypass concealer or, you can apply it to areas that contain blemishes.

After you've applied facial makeup, you need to move onto your eyes. You should always apply your eye make in this order: eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara. When you apply your makeup, relax your eyelids and look down. This technique will smooth out your eyelids, which will help you apply your makeup more evenly. Move your eye shadow brush from the inside of your eye to the outside of your eye. This will help even out your eye shade color.

Eyeliner will help your eyes standout. However, if you apply too much, you'll look like a raccoon. When you apply eyeliner, use your pointer finger to pull the skin around your eye taught. This will make your eye smooth and allow you to evenly apply the liner.

When you apply makeup, especially when you're just learning this, you should have plenty of Q-tips nearby. The Q-tips will help you wash away or even out any mistakes you may make while learning how to apply makeup.

What is the Best Makeup to Hide Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Searching for the best makeup to hide fine lines and wrinkles is sometimes an easy job. In fact, you should know a few things about this problem before you start searching for a solution.

Let's face it: everyone hates wrinkles. It doesn't matter if they are just some barely visible fine lines or rough wrinkles; you want to forget them as soon as possible. Many people think that an easy way to do this is by covering the problem with makeup. Why does this happen? The reason is simple.

Makeup

We are thought to think that makeup is perfect for hiding defects. When you go to bed at night, you can take off your makeup and no one will see your flaws. This is a great strategy in theory, but it has some disadvantages. Firstly, there are many make up products which will hurt your skin. This way, you will not only have to cover your wrinkles, but potential rashes and other defects. The second disadvantage of using even the best makeup to hide fine lines and wrinkles is that it won't solve your problem.

Many people use makeup because they think that wrinkles can't be treated. This is exactly why they prefer covering them instead of using a natural skin cream which can solve the problem without repercussions. How can a skin cream work? It's easier than you might think.

With the right proteins, your body will clear the wrinkles in a matter of days and a good skin care cream will make you produce more collagen and elastin. After a few treatments, you will see the results. Unlike other options, skin care creams can be cheaper than makeup and it can have permanent results with no disadvantages.

Basically, the only thing that you need to do for solving wrinkle problems is to find a natural cream. Get started with the internet and you will be able to notice a few natural ingredients which have been verified scientifically. Unlike with makeup, your face will always be safe and the problem will get a fast and reliable solution, without too much effort.

What's the Difference Between Mineral Makeup and Regular Makeup?

The latest buzz in the beauty industry would without a doubt be the emergence of mineral make-up. Primarily as a foundation, you can also find mineral makeup in blush and eyeshadow formulations as well.

The main difference between mineral and regular makeup is in the ingredients used to create the product and that most mineral makeup is in powder form. Of course other factors such as how it looks on your skin and the added natural benefits are a reason it is becoming such a hit with beauty shoppers.

Makeup

While most mineral cosmetics claim to be made with natural or safe ingredients, it is still important to read the ingredient list as some companies may include some chemical compounds. If at all possible, avoid paraben preservatives and choose only 100% certified organic mineral makeup.

Another benefit is that the makeup offers a natural sun protection. While not as high as your SPF 15+'s, it still provides adequate cover if you are just going shopping or out and about during the day.

It doesn't clog pores which is great news for those with oily or problem skin, and depending how it is applied can also minimize the appearance of fine lines and imperfections.

Women of all ages and skin types (even sensitive) can use mineral makeup although those with dry skin may need to use a moisturizing lotion underneath their foundation.

Because it generally comes in powder form it needs to be applied with a brush, but a damp sponge can also work giving a heavier finish. Blending in a circular motion usually gives the best look.

Another reason that many people are choosing it over regular cosmetics is that it gives a very natural 'no makeup' look. It makes you look if you have perfectly flawless skin when that may not really be the case at all!

Tracey is the health and beauty editor of Lazy Spa Girl and uses only certified organic mineral makeup.

The Genetic Makeup of American Rottweilers

Most people do not realize that there are two types of Rottweilers. This is because there is very little difference between the two. The two types of Rottweilers are the American Rottweiler and the German Rottweiler. The German Rottweiler is shorter, stockier and more muscular than the American Rottweiler. The American Rottweiler is taller and thinner through the face and body.

Both the American Rottweiler and the German Rottweiler are black with distinct tan markings over both eyes, cheeks, muzzle and chest. Both have coats that are medium length, coarse and straight and both have a double undercoat.

Makeup

The American Rottweiler is very protective of its owner and their possessions so make very good guard dogs. They have a great sense of humor and are happiest when performing a task. These dogs are sometimes called gentle bears by their owners because of their loving personalities. The male American Rottweiler ranges between eighty-five and one hundred thirty-five pounds and the female between sixty and one hundred pounds.

The American Rottweiler is becoming known as an excellent therapy dog and is becoming very well known with the physically challenged. He is a very intelligent dog and a hard working dog. He aims to please and is happiest when performing a task. However, these dogs can be stubborn and need to be trained and socialized at a very early age.

If obedience training does not occur at an early age the American Rottweiler can become a bully and will have other undesirable behavioral problems. These dogs excel in sports such as herding, carting, flyball and agility. The American Rottweiler is a relatively healthy dog breed. He tends towards hip dysplasia, as do other large dog breeds and he in the last few decades has a tendency toward cancer. If any moles or lumps should suddenly appear on his body it is imperative that you take him to the vet and have it checked out thoroughly.

Reputable American Rottweiler breeders should not be difficult to locate. They can normally be found on the Internet, through recommendations from other Rottweiler owners, through your veterinarian and from the American Kennel Club. These breeders should be socializing their puppies with their own families to get them customized to humans. They should be able to answer all of your questions about the breed and will normally turn the tables on you and ask you many questions to see if you are ready to own an American Rottweiler.

There are German Rottweiler breeders and American Rottweiler breeders and if you have done your homework sufficiently, you will know the distinct difference between the two. Having a discussion with the breeder about the two types of Rottweilers is a good idea.

These dogs make great pets and because of their size will become excellent guard dogs. They are not aware of their size and when their humor comes through it is quite silly.

The Genetic Makeup of American Rottweilers

Sharon Davies has been asked to speak at many charitable events benefiting animal rescue shelters. Rottweiler types working as guard dogs will give you a taste of their strong personalities. The grooming of American Rottweilers can be found in any book with Rottweiler information.

Facials and Makeup for Brides - How to Best Prepare for Your Wedding

No matter how much you try to scrub, wash and moisturize your face and body prior to your wedding day, without professional knowledge and products you can't possibly make much difference. It can be so disappointing to see flaws in your skin when you receive your wedding photos, and the best way to avoid it happening to you is to have a skin plan for preparing for your big day.

Starting right now, the first and most important thing to do is increase your water intake. Keep bottled water everywhere: in the fridge, in the car, on your desk, by the bed and in the bathroom. Every time you see the water, have a drink, and the benefits will be seen after only one week. Continue drinking around two liters of water per day, and avoid alcohol and sugary foods or drinks. Exercise is also fantastic for the way your skin looks, and nothing will achieve the healthy glow like regular visits to the gym and good food.

Makeup

There are some natural things you can do at home to help skin problems, and these can be done regularly every night. For open pores, blackheads and problem skin a great solution is to rub half a tomato over your face, chest and neck, leaving it on for fifteen minutes. The acid in the tomato along with antioxidants are great for balancing and cleaning clogged pores. For tough, thick skin you can use ground rock salt and avocado for a facial scrub, but if your skin is fragile this is not recommended. For a gentler scrub soak some oats in a bowl of warm water for a minute or two, using them before they become completely soft. Rub the oats in a circular motion for five minutes over your whole face, neck and chest, softly removing dead skin cells and soothing any irritations. If you have very bad blackheads you can use colorless, odorless iodine mixed with rock salt to scrub. Only scrub it on the areas that are toughened with a lot of blocked pores, and do it for the moths coming up to the wedding. Stop one month before, or when your beautician recommends.

You should definitely include in your wedding budget some visits to a beautician, and this is where the planning comes in to it. Any good beauty therapist will offer a free skin analysis to potential customers, and the sooner you have that the better. Through evaluation and discussions about what you would like to achieve with your skin, you can work out a schedule for ensuring you achieve your goal by the wedding day. It could possibly involve some micro-dermbrasion, chemical peels or simply regular visits for facials. The added bonus is you get to talk in length about how you want your makeup and hair to be for the day, as well as any waxing or manicure plans.

Never compromise on your beauty requirements for the wedding: no matter how many times your man tells you that you are fine the way you are and he doesn't want anything fancy, every man appreciates the fantasy when he sees you looking more beautiful than ever. It is a day you have always dreamed of, so make it a dream come true! Wedding photos where the bride has gone to little or no effort with make-up look horribly drab and boring. If you can't look beautiful on the most important day for your future life, when can you? Splurge and hire a professional beauty therapist to do your face, and go through a basic practice run with them prior to the day to make sure you like what they have in mind for you.

If you look after your skin at home and follow a plan for improvement with the beauty therapist, you should have the result of looking your best on your special day. Don't look at your photos with pangs of regret because you didn't do anything about it at the time, and include it in part of your overall plans, like ordering caterers and booking the church. You will have a much better time when you are feeling confident and beautiful, so go on and treat yourself, and if you are lucky your husband will love it so much he will be happy for you to go regularly.

Tree Structure - The Basic Makeup of Trees

Trees are made up of three main components: the roots, the leaves and the woody structure that connects them. The function of the roots is to bring the water and minerals to the rest of the tree. The leaves also serve to feed the tree. They absorb carbon dioxide from the air and use sunlight to combine this gas with the moisture brought up from the roots, making the simple sugars which feed the tree giving off oxygen as a byproduct.

That is the true magic of trees; they feed off of a toxic gas and provide clean oxygen in return. They are truly the earths air filter. According to David Nowak of the USDA Forest Service a persons oxygen needs could be supplied by two trees. To make up for the carbon dioxide created by the average household with a single car would take about 1/6th of an acre of trees (so start planting).

Makeup

The woody structure, including the trunk, branches and twigs hold the trees leaves in position to receive the life-giving sunlight and carbon dioxide; they also act as a means of carrying the raw materials and nutrients back and forth between the roots and the leaves. The moisture taken up by the roots is pulled up by a process of capillary attraction and the osmotic action induced by the evaporation of water from the leaves. This loss of water through the leaves is called transpiration.

On a warm summer day, a single birch tree may transpire as much as 900 gallons of water. This enormous flow of water causes a continuous flow of tree sap from the roots of the tree to the uppermost leaves.

When moving a tree or working around an existing tree that you wish to preserve, the highest priority is to protect the root structure of the tree itself. The larger roots at the trunk anchor the tree to the ground and stabilize it, while the small root-hairs at the ends of the rootlets absorb the water from the ground.

The trunk of a tree is made up of the bark, the wood and the pith. The pith is the middle section surrounded by the wood. Between the wood and exterior bark is a thin layer that creates new wood on the inside and bark on the outside. This layer is known as the cambium layer. When the cambium ring is severed the tree is killed, such as when a fence wire is wrapped around a tree and wears through the bark. Damage to the cambium layer also makes a tree vulnerable to insects and disease, so anything driven into it can wound a tree severely.

Besides man himself, trees have many natural enemies. There are more than 200,000 known insects that attack trees. Diseases, such as blight, rust, and rot, just to name a few can cause tremendous amounts of damage to trees or groupings of trees. High winds, ice storms and droughts can also create a great deal of havoc with trees. Fortunately, trees have several thing going for them. They are extremely resilient and can survive even serious damage, storms and droughts are not terribly common and birds ally themselves with tree to keep most of the insects in check.

Makeup Tips For Green Eyes

Green eyes are really fun to work with. They have such a wide color range from turqouise to chartreuse to forest green to bright light green and on and on.

These tips are designed for the magority of green eyes, but of course there are exceptions to every rule. My best advice is to try every color that you're interested in. You'll be surprised what looks good.

Makeup

Choosing An Eyeshadow

These colors are some of the most popular for green eyes.

Try different browns, especially chocolate tones. Browns and dark greens with copper or gold highlights are also a great choice.

Apricots and taupes are good choices for highlighters.

Dark purples, plums and metallics work too. Coppers and golds will make a really glamorous evening look for makeup tips for green eyes. I personally really like the way deep purples look with dark green eyes.

Colors To Avoid

When you're learning makeup tips for green eyes, it also helps to know what colors you might want to avoid.

First up, blues. Any color of blue doesn't do green eyes justice. I would recommend avoiding light blues, dark blues and even some colors (purples or pinks) with blue undertones.

Pinks are also a hard color to judge. Some can look really, really good and others can look really, really bad. This is usually a matter of trial and error.

Silvers are not a good choice either. Leave them for the blue eyes.

Eyeliner Colors

Unless you really like black eyeliner, it's usually a color to avoid. Try steely grays or chocolate browns. Use gold or white to open up the eye if your eyes are small.

The Rule Of Thumb

A good rule of thumb when choosing a color for makeup tips for green eyes is to focus on warm colors and avoid cool colors.

Like I said, there are exceptions to every rule, but this should provide a nearly fail-safe method for choosing eyeshadow colors to bring out the beauty of your green eyes.

The Application

How you apply your eyeshadow depends how many colors you're wearing and what the occasion is.

For basic every day wear, here's what you do.

1. Apply a highlighter like crystalline to the entire eye from the bottom of the crease to the eyebrow.

2. Use a taupe or apricot next and apply it to the whole eyelid and blend it just above the crease with the crystalline.

3. Then use your third color (chocolate brown, dark green, copper, etc.) and apply it one of two ways:

a. Apply it from the middle of your eyelid from the eyelash to just above the crease. Blend it well. You can even blend it under the lower lashes for a more dramatic look.

b. Apply it from the inner corner of your eyelid and sweep it out to the outer corner of your eye. It will get thicker the further out you go. Blend well.

4. Apply eyeliner and mascara as you normally would.

And there you go! Great makeup tips for green eyes.

The Best Makeup to Hide Fine Lines and Wrinkles

As you age, several lines and creases appear on the corners of the eyes extending sometimes up to the hair line. These are called crows feet.

Fine lines also appear around the mouth. All these lines are early signs of skin aging that most of us dread.

Makeup

When your skin starts to show fine lines and wrinkles as a sign of aging, a usual temporary remedy is to hide it with make up.

One of the basics in makeup that you should know thoroughly is the use of foundation.

Foundations together with concealer are effective agents to temporarily remedy crows feet because of its capacity to hide these lines. Another one component of makeup is the loose powder. It finishes the base of your make up.

The following are tips that you can employ when using foundations, concealers and loose powder to effectively hide those skin aging lines like crows feet and wrinkles:

1. Use foundation, concealer and loose powder with natural ingredients. Natural ingredients like plant extracts or herbs and other natural minerals help the skin cells function well. These ingredients are antioxidant that releases free radicals, thus skin cells are able to produce collagen that is needed for elasticity and firmness of the skin.

2. Use makeup that protects the skin from the sun. Exposure to the UV rays is the foremost cause of rapid formation of fine lines and other skin aging problems. Select a good makeup that contains a high SPF factor, at least SPF 30 if you are going to be in the sun for a long time.

3. Apply foundation and powder gently on the skin to avoid irritation.

4. Determine the foundation that is right for your skin type. If your skin is dry, a product that contains moisturizer is desirable.

Following these tips will not only help you hide those fine lines and wrinkles, but it will also lead to improving your skin condition as well as prevent further occurrence of crows feet and wrinkles on the face.

Frequently Asked Questions About Permanent Makeup

Frequently Asked Questions About Permanent Cosmetics

Q2) What is the recovery time for permanent makeup?

Makeup

A2) Everyone is different, but a general rule would be 3-7 days on the surface, and another 10-14 days below the surface. It is common for a person to return to work the same day. Lips will have some residual swelling and will chap. There may be slight swelling after the eyeliner; brows may look darker than usual - all of which softens in a few days.

Q5) Can I still wear traditional makeup over the tattooed area?

A5) Yes, after the area has healed. Permanent makeup is designed to be only an enhancement to your natural features. Wearing additional cosmetics is a
personal choice that enhances your permanent makeup.

Q6) What if I decide to have cosmetic surgery?

A6) Plastic surgery has no affect on properly placed permanent makeup. However, if you're contemplating plastic surgery, you may opt for the surgery before the permanent makeup.

Q7) What reaction is common regarding permanent makeup?

A7) Women are usually amazed at how awesome, natural and subtle permanent makeup is. They wish they had done it a decade ago. No more smudged makeup, daily hassle, etc. Life has become simpler!

Q8) Who would benefit?

A8) Active women and men ... those needing feature correction; people with allergies to make-up ... athletes ... the vision impaired ... alopecia sufferers ... those looking for a natural look - or those looking for something more dramatic.

Q9) How is it done?

A9) A sterilized, disposable needle is used to implant hundreds of tiny dots of colored pigment beneath the basal (top) layer of the skin enhancing natural features.

Q10) Does it hurt?

A10) The topical numbing anesthetic creams used today are much stronger than in years past. If you follow the simple rules beforehand of: no alcohol, aspirin, blood-thinning medications, Vitamin E, garlic or herbal supplements 3, preferably 5 days prior to your appt. will greatly reduce any discomfort associated with the procedure. Also, have no caffeine the day of the procedure. Following these guidelines greatly increases your comfort level during your permanent makeup procedure.

Q11) How long will it take?

A11) Most of the procedures require approximately 2-3 hours. The most important part of all the procedures is the artwork and choosing colors, both of which require approval by the client.

Q12) How soon will the results be visible?

A12) Within seven days you will notice a visible difference. We require all of our clients to come in for verification 30 days after creation at which time any adjustments will be made (if necessary).

Q13) How long will it last?

A13) Normally one to five years maybe longer. Re-enhancements otherwise known as "touchups' or "refresher color boosts" are recommended for maintenance. You must remember that permanent makeup is a "low", not a "no" maintenance procedure. You eventually will need a color touchup when your color fades. Once the color lightens you will know that you are ready for your refresher color boost! You cannot avoid this fact - everything fades with time, especially anything out in the sun.

Q14) What about allergies?

A14) Those with allergies are particularly good candidates to permanent makeup. If you are prone to allergies, you may ask the technician about an allergy test. The allergy test will be done using a red pigment. The red pigment is usually the one that will cause the most noticeable allergic reaction if there will be a reaction at all. Reactions are rare.

Q15) What does it cost?

A15) Fees vary according to the creation required and will be determined at a free consultation. But remember, you get what you pay for. You can expect to pay anywhere from 0-0 per procedure, depending on your technician and your location. The smart thing to do is to for sure not to choose the cheapest artist, but you need not choose the most expensive artist either.

Q16) What if the shape isn't what I want?

A16) The eyebrows are drawn on with semi-permanent marker prior to the start of any procedure, so you will see exactly what is going to be done before anything permanent is applied.

Q17) What about removal of pigment?

A17) We call removal "pigment lifting" which is available and works very well if the technician is trained in the process. Typically only small areas should be attempted to be lifted with either a salt/saline mixture or a similar "lifting" product, used for this purpose only- trying to removal larger areas of permanent makeup pigments will require more extensive treatment, such as a laser. Under these circumstances, contact a dermatologist.

Step-by-step Bridal Makeup Application Tips

Your wedding day is coming closer and closer and if there is one thing you want most, it is looking the best on your special day. Here is a step-by-step guide to applying makeup for your wedding day:

Preparing Your Face

Makeup

1. Start with a clean, well moisturized face. If you have oily skin, use a moisturizer specified for your skin type. If you have dry skin, use a hydrating spray before you begin.

2. Now select a foundation. This is a very important part and you need to be very careful when choosing a foundation. You need to look for a product that suits your skin tone and is also long-staying. If you are having a summer or a beach wedding, look for something water resistant. The foundation should also be streak proof so that makeup lines don't show. It should really set off your complexion and not make it look dull. A useful tip is to go to a beauty counter and get 2-3 products tried on your face well before the wedding.

3. After applying the foundation, set it with a translucent setting powder.

Eye Makeup

1. Hydrate the area with cream and then make a base. Apply a neutral color Eyeshadow over the entire eyelid right you're your lash line to the bow.

2. Now for some accentuation. Use a mid tone hue in the outer corner of the eye to emphasize it. Take care to use Eyeshadow colors that suit your skin tone and go well with your accessories, jewelry and bouquet colors.

3. Now apply eyeliner. It is good to practice well beforehand to get a clean and straight line.

3. For thick lashes, use an eyelash curler to curl them and coat with a double coat of mascara. If you think there is even a slight chance that you might cry, go in for waterproof mascara.

Cheeks and Lips

1. Choose a color that suits your skin tone and goes with your dress and enhance your natural glow with blusher.

2. Prepare your lips by applying lip balm. Exfoliate and moisturize lips regularly prior to the wedding to ensure soft and smooth lips.

3. Line your lips with a lip liner. Don't sway from your natural shape. Just make your natural shape more visible.

4. Fill in with an appropriate shade of lipstick. Once again, make sure your lipstick in transfer-resistant and long stay. Invest in a good quality lipstick that gives you all this and keeps your lips moisturized.

It is always advised to put on trial makeup several times before the wedding so that you save yourself from any last-minute makeup disasters on your most special day. Lots of rest and a relaxed state of mind will ensure you have your natural glow on your wedding day.

Which Makeup is Best For the Older Woman?

Mature women have different needs than younger women when it comes to makeup.  They still want to look as beautiful as ever, but often realize their old and previously used brands of makeup aren't looking the way they used to.  Over time the skin will begin to fade and line and wrinkles begin to form.  Using a quality cleanser and moisturizer will help manage the wrinkles, but there will have to be some adjustments to the makeup that's used.

Older women should be looking for makeup that is formulated to enhance their natural mature beauty.  The makeup should accomplish two things; it should conceal any minor wrinkles and flaws and add a bit of color to the skin.  Makeup for the older woman shouldn't layer the face with colors and foundations that try to make the skin look younger.  Using a heavy foundation on older skin will often make any wrinkles look even deeper.  Bare Essentials makeup is perfect for mature skin; it is light and sheer, allowing the beauty of the skin to show.

Makeup

One thing to remember when applying makeup to mature skin is to not use too much.  If the make-up is heavy and doesn't highlight your features or blend with your skin tone it can make you look years older than you really are. Mineral makeup, like Bare Essentials makeup is perfect for mature skin since it allows you to achieve the perfect level of coverage for your needs without looking heavy or unnatural.  In addition to looking great, it also feels great on the skin. Applying Bare Essentials makeup to mature skin couldn't be easier. p>

The makeup is applied in a circular motion with a large makeup brush.  Just did the brush in the mineral foundation and shake off any excess.  Be sure to apply the foundation to clean skin that has been properly moisturized.  The application is simple and quick, taking just a little practice to master this technique. Choose a foundation color, or a combination of two that will perfectly match your skin tone.  The key to looking beautiful as you mature is to look as natural as possible.

Makeup should be used to enhance your beauty, not hide it. Mineral makeup solutions are growing in popularity these days.  The natural minerals from the earth are carefully blended to provide a hypoallergenic makeup solution.  However, not all mineral makeup is created equally.  With Bare Essentials makeup has a reputation for purity and quality that users rave about.  Most people that have tried this mineral makeup never use anything else.

You don't want to much, nor too little, a natural look is very important. This is not the time to be experimenting with new looks. Your makeup should enhance your beauty not hide it. Here are some tips to help with you achieve your pefect bridal makeup:

  • If you are having a facial done, make sure it is at least two weeks prior to your wedding.
  • If your skin is prone to breakouts, see your dermatologist 3 or 4 months before your wedding
  • Staying hydrated is important to keeping you looking refreshed. Drinking lots of water will also flush out impurities from the skin.
  • Eyebrows should be shaped 5-7 days before the wedding. Be sure not to pluck on your wedding day because you could land up with unattractive red bumps that are difficult to cover.
  • On your wedding day blend your makeup well and let set. You do not need extra makeup to please the camera - that's a myth.
  • Choose a lipstick that lasts. Apply just prior to walking down the isle. Go easy on the lip liner. Be sure to check that you don't have lipstick on your teeth.
  • Line and fill mouth with a neutral pencil to make lipstick stay on longer.
  • To lengthen wearing time of your lipstick, apply a light layer of powder over your lipstick then apply another layer of lipstick
  • If you are doing your own makeup, see a beauty consultant and purchase your make up at least 3 months in advance. Then practice until you've got the perfect makeup.
  • Waterproof mascara is a great idea just incase you get a little weepy.
  • A very light application of facial powder will set your makeup and reduce
  • Keep your powder, mascara, and lipstick in your purse so you can freshen up at a moments notice.
  • If you discover that dreaded pimple on your wedding day, do not squeeze it! Just apply a drop of visene to get the red out, cover with concealer, and apply foundation.
  • Wear a button shirt when applying your makeup so you don't mess up your makeup. When slipping into your gown put a towel over your face so you don't get makeup on your wedding dress.
  • Avoid glittery or dewy looks - these are not very receptive for photographs and you may come out looking greasy
  • If your wedding is outside be sure to apply sunscreen first
  • Water based foundation looks most natural in photos
  • For eye contouring, apply a dark but neutral in the crease of the eye. You can line the upper and lower lids (optional) with brown or grey shadow, smudging the outer corners
  • If you need to make your eyes look wider or brighter, use a white pencil to line the inside of the lower lids.
  • Don't get too much sun before your wedding. Sunburns, peeling skin and tan lines can sabotage your special day.
  • Make certain your wedding photographer is "not" using grainy film, because no matter how good your makeup is, with grainy film it will not look good
  • Make sure your wedding photographer is using high quality film so your photos do your wedding makeup justice
  • For your makeup to look good in your photos, it must be completely matte and in neutral tones, brides usually prefer a little color. Pastels look soft and pretty, but avoid glitter, shimmer and frosted eyeshadows.
  • Shine is the #1 enemy for photos.
  • Don't apply white or black eye shadow
  • Olive complexions should not use gray shades
  • Pale complexions should not use vibrant colors.

Bismuth Oxychloride in Mineral Makeup

Does this scenario sound familiar? You've worn traditional makeup for years with little to no irritation. Upon hearing about the benefits of mineral makeup, you decide to give it a try. After all, it claims to be better for your skin and healthier overall, so what have you got to lose? And if you've never been able to wear traditional makeup without irritation, mineral makeup sounds like the answer you've been looking for. You buy your first jar and begin wearing it immediately.

Except... you're having a reaction you've never had before to makeup. Your skin may be red, irritated, itching, having small bumps or pustules, burning or looking swollen. What is this? How can mineral makeup cause such an extreme reaction?

Makeup

That reaction is likely caused by the ingredient bismuth oxychloride. While bismuth oxychloride is a common ingredient in traditional makeup, as well as mineral makeup, it is used in much higher concentrations in mineral makeup. There are no fillers in mineral makeup like there are in traditional cosmetics (talc, mineral oil, aluminum powder, alcohols and parabens), so the few ingredients left, including bismuth oxychloride, make up more of the recipe.

Why Is Bismuth Oxychloride Used In Makeup?

Is it used in makeup because it gives the makeup a silky feel, good slip (this means it applies well to the skin and doesn't drag or grab on the skin) and good adhesion, which helps it stay on your skin. It feels smooth and silky when rubbed between the fingers. It is often described as a lustrous crystalline powder.

It is not the most expensive ingredient, nor is it the least expensive. It is, however, an industry standard and very common. It also gives a visible sheen to the makeup, so it's good at refracting light and that helps draw attention away from, and camouflage, fine lines, wrinkles and minor discolorations. That's a great selling point for makeup.

What Is Bismuth Oxychloride?

Bismuth oxychloride is an inorganic white pigment, and usually comes in two forms: diamond and pearl finishes. The diamond is shimmery and the pearl is more matte. It's formula is BiOCl.

If you look on the periodic table of elements, you'll notice plain old bismuth at atomic number 83, with the symbol Bi. It is the least toxic of it's periodic table neighbors like lead, tin, antimony and polonium. Bismuth in itself is not safe for use in cosmetics, and must be refined and combined with other elements to produce bismuth oxychloride.

Bismuth occurs naturally, but in very small amounts. Most of the bismuth produced in the USA is as a by-product from refining lead, tin, copper, silver and gold ores.

Once the bismuth has been harvested, it is further refined through several processes to remove dangerous elements like lead. Then it is chlorinated, which gives us bismuth chloride (BiCl3). It still poses a severe risk at this point, smelling of hydrochloric acid. When bismuth chloride is combined with water, it starts to decompose and part of the chlorine is replaced by oxygen from the water. This process is called hydrolysis. The remaining compound is bismuth, chlorine and oxygen; Bismuth oxychloride.

Is It Safe To Use?

Bismuth oxychloride is a product that is FDA approved for use in products for the face, eyes, lips and nails. It is a very common and popular ingredient in both traditional and mineral makeup.

However, skin irritation from bismuth oxychloride is not unusual. According the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for bismuth oxychloride, there is a risk of it being a potential irritant to humans when it comes in contact with the skin or eyes.

It is also imperative that bismuth oxychloride be free from toxins when it hits the market. The FDA does have standards outlining this, and in their Electronic Code of Federal Regulations they dictate the composition must be free of impurities except lead, arsenic, volatile matter and mercury in specific amounts and must be 98% bismuth oxychloride.

Buying bismuth oxychloride from countries with less stringent laws may result in increased health risks, so it is wise for companies to buy from highly regulated countries, like the US and Canada.

Should I Use It?

This is a very personal question to answer. Are you are happy with your current makeup and are suffering no ill effects? Would you feel more comfortable using makeup without it? Do you find that you have to buff minerals with bismuth oxychloride into your pores or they are more obvious, and this is irritating your skin? Have you found using mineral makeup without it causes your skin relief and the reaction clears up?

These are all questions to ask yourself when deciding to purchase a brand with bismuth oxychloride as an ingredient. There are many good products available, offering the same benefits as products with bismuth oxychloride, but without the ingredient itself.

Makeup Tips For Brown Eyes

Brown eyes come in many different shades so let's look at a kaleidoscope of colors to help us to enhance eye color. Colors opposite each other will be complementary so, will work to brighten each other up. For example: Red and green, orange and blue, purple and yellow. Depending on the shade of brown your eyes are will determine the shades of eye shadow you may use to brighten the brown which, may give you the effect of lightening that you are after, especially if you use colors that shimmer. If your eyes have a yellow tinge, try using an eye shadow with a purple tone.

The next thing you need to consider is the one rule of makeup that will always guide you: Light colors bring out, make larger and highlight. Dark colors recede, minimize or contour. So with this in mind you could work with dark eyeliner and light eye shadow colors to emphasize your dark chocolate eyes with black liner, mascara, a smudge of pale pink eye shadow, and finish with lightly flushed cheeks and make your lips your signature. Create lip focus with a red or berry stain. To pull color focus from your eyes, giving the illusion of lighter eyes, go for a deeper shade of lip color.

Makeup

Dark brown eyes are very versatile when it comes to color accents, and dark brown eyes are such a beautiful feature to have, I would play them up. Compliment your brown eyes with pale pinks, or accent the brown with gold and deep rusts. Have you tried using eyeliner to add definition? One look is to use one sheer glittery eye shadow used all over in combination with a softly smudged liner for a more sophisticated look.

I would definitely recommend you have a play with colored eyeliners. Dark brown eyes look stunning lined in shades of plum mix with a pale mauve shadow, aubergine mix with a shimmery light pink shadow, raisin mix with a mushroom soft brown shadow. Just remember to combine with a lighter shadow or your eyes may look more dramatic. There are various methods of using eyeliner. Pencils are the most versatile eye-defining tools, as you can start softly, blending each layer back if it starts to become too heavy looking. Pencil can be smudged softly, or add depth under an eye shadow for a muted look, or used alone for strongly defined eyes.

Liquid eyeliner is much more dramatic, and can be applied over top of your eye pencil for added intensity, or used under eye shadow to enhance your eye shape. Both of these techniques ensure longwearing eyeliner.

For the most natural way to line your eyes, use a small, firm brush and apply eye shadow as your eyeliner. Make the most of your dark brown eyes, using soft pinks to really bring them out. Use brown mascara for day, and a black/brown mascara for evening or special occasions. Keep eyeliner to a minimum though. Just use it to softly frame your eyes. Avoid all black as it tends to be too strong. Chocolates, deep plums and charcoals smudged into your lashes will do the trick. You might like to try adding a very subtle contour in a soft mushroom color on your brow bone just above your crease and blend this softly.

On the days you feel like your eyes need a pick-me-up, jazz up your eye make-up a little. Graduating your eye makeup from at your lash line to your brow will give your eyes more depth. Use the darkest shade along your lash line, and merge into lighter shades nearer your brow. Contouring and shading can create the illusion of different eye shapes. By using dark to minimize and light to make larger, you can play with altering the length and size of your eyes. ?

If you just want to keep it simple, sweep a shimmery pastel shadow all over your lid, curl your lashes, apply 2 to 3 coats dark grey charcoal or dark brown mascara, and add a few individual false lashes on the outer corner of your eyes!

Have fun discovering your new colors.

Makeup Tips For Blue Eyes

Makeup tips for blue eyes are pretty straightforward. The trick is to learn which colors look better on blue eyes, and start with those, and then branch out with the colors that you are personally drawn to. Women have a unique ability to choose colors that are complimentary to them. Just because colors are suggested doesn't mean those are the only colors suitable for you to wear.

Colors For Blue Eyes

Makeup

There are some colors that seem to be made for blue eyes. Icy pinks, silver, gold and violet all come to mind. You can expand your selection by also choosing taupe, gray, and other purples, like lavender.

If you want to add a little "oomph" to your makeup, try a bright blue instead. I know, I know. You've always heard bad things about blue eyeshadow. However, these makeup tips for blue eyes include bright blue eyeshadow because it will make your eyes really stand out. Try it and see what you think.

Also try turquoise, and if your eyes have green in them, mint green is a great choice. Bright pinks and fuschia are great choices as well. And if you really want to mix it up, try mixing black with another color. It will look striking and it usually best for nightwear.

Application Tips

Now, I wouldn't give you makeup tips for blue eyes without giving you tips to apply them. If you're already comfortable with your application you don't need to read on. But if you think you might like some guidelines to help you, keep reading.

Here's an example of a day look that you could do:

1.Take a silver shadow and apply it from your eyelashes to your eyebrow.

2.Then apply lavender from your eyelashes to just above the crease. Blend it well into the silver so you can't see a distinct line.

3.Then take violet and apply it in a "v" from the middle of your eyelid to the outer corner. Blend very, very well. You want it to look like a gradual change of color, not distinct lines.

4.Line your eyes with charcoal or dark gray eyeliner.

5.Apply mascara.

You can adjust the colors to be icy pink with fuschia, light and dark turquoise, gold and taupe, gray and bright blue, light blue and bright blue, silver and bright blue, taupe and green, etc. The list goes on and on.

Just play around until you like what you're seeing. You make all the choices and decisions when it comes to your makeup.
These makeup tips for blue eyes should have you seeing clearer.

Makeup For Acne - Tips For Concealing Pitted Acne Scars

Acne scars are a lasting reminder of acne, whether recent or from years ago. While there are different surgical procedures for reducing or eliminating these scars, most people rely on some form of concealer makeup to cover them up. Depending on the type of acne scar you want to cover, you will need to use different techniques and makeup.

There are several different types of acne scars, including pitted, raised, and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (which is not technically a scar). The methods discussed in this article address the ways to cover pitted scars, such as icepick, boxcar, or other depressed scars. These types of scars present a challenge to conceal since they are not even with the rest of the skin.

Makeup

In order to best conceal pitted acne scars, you will first need to use a filler to raise the scar as much as possible to the same level as the rest of your skin. Two ways you can do this are with:

  • Wrinkle fillers. If they can fill wrinkles, then they can do the same with pitted scars. While these are unlikely to raise the scar significantly and are only temporary, they can reduce the amount of concealer you need to fill the scar.
  • Thick, creamy concealers. A thick concealer that is the same color as your skin can be applied with a very small concealer brush. Apply a small amount of concealer to the pitted portion of the scar. Dab and blend carefully so that the concealer stays in the scar and the edges blend with the rest of your skin. A couple good concealers for scars are Kat Von D's Tattoo Concealer and Smashbox High Definition Concealer. Cover FX also has a very wide range of colors for concealing scars on the face or body.

Tips for the best coverage:

  1. Always look for a concealer that is as close to your skin tone as possible. If anything, use a slightly lighter tone, since a depressed scar can cast a slight shadow, making it look darker.
  2. If the scar is discolored, use a corrector first in green (for red scars) or yellow (for bluish scars). Peach colors can also work with scars that have a blue tint. Use concealer after the corrector, if necessary, to even out the color to match the rest of your skin.
  3. If applying foundation, put it on after using any wrinkle filler but before your concealer. If you apply foundation after concealer, you risk wiping off the concealer that you just worked so hard to apply. Also, you may need less concealer after applying foundation.
  4. Always set your concealer with a loose powder. This will set it and keep your makeup from smearing during the day. This applies to both face and body makeup.

While it is possible to conceal your acne scars, it is still best to prevent them in the first place. Any time you get acne, whether it is just one pimple or many, treat it right away and keep your hands away from your face. Be particularly careful of any inflamed areas since these are the blemishes that are most likely to result in scars. There is no real substitute for the advice of a dermatologist when you have moderate to severe acne. However, do not wait until your acne is bad to start treating it.
